It’s never what people do that make us angry; it’s what we tell ourselves about what they did.
~ Marshall Rosenberg
In these three sessions we will look at what happens in general when you feel angry and upset. From a deeper understanding of anger you’ll be led through a simple yet effective process (self-empathy) to connect with your feelings and needs. In this process it’s important to acknowledge the unmet needs and become more aware of what you are longing for. From a place of “feeling stuck”, you’ll be able to move to place of hope, mourning or feeling motivated to step towards meeting your needs.

Times and dates
Wednesday afternoons, 2.00 – 4.00pm, UK time.
27 February, 6 and 13 March 2019.
Week 1: Introduction: what makes you angry, how can you deal with it?
Week 2: The five steps of the self-empathy fill-in sheet.
Week 3: Four choices in hearing a difficult message.
Structure of each evening
We’ll start with a check-in round and a mindful arriving exercise to tune into our topic. Gesine will introduce the self-empathy process, then offer a guided reflection in which participants will work with their own examples from daily life. Afterwards there will be a chance to review your learning and ask questions. If there is time left over, Gesine is also offering to coach people. Each session will end with Gesine describing a voluntary task that you can do during the week to deepen your learning, and a closing round.
