Venue

We hold the Trainings at The Barns Centre,  PETT (Planned Environment Therapy Trust). Located in the quiet village of Toddington in rural Gloucestershire, this is on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), about twelve miles north of Cheltenham. Set in its own grounds, PETT includes accommodation, its own kitchen, sitting room, and a spacious hall for group activities. More about PETT on their website.

Group size and accommodation

Due to the size of the main room, we are limiting the number of places on the Year Training to twenty. Accommodation is in twin-bedded rooms. On the application form you can request to share with a particular person (check with them first).

Fees

There is a single fee for all five modules of the Year Training. The fee includes:

  • Tuition.
  • Materials, including handouts.
  • Vegetarian food.
  • Accommodation.

We want to make this workshop series available to everyone who would benefit from it, regardless of income. We balance this with the need to to support ourselves financially. To this end, we propose a sliding scale, depending on your income. If you consider yourself:

  • On benefits or minimum-waged, £1695.00. (Early bird £1495.00, before 30 June.)
  • Moderately comfortable, £1950.00. (Early bird £1750.00, before 30 June.)
  • Eating out regularly and/or take a foreign holiday each year, £2275.00. (Early bird £2075.00, before 30 June.)

If you choose to pay more than the minimum, it will go towards supporting participants who otherwise couldn’t attend. It will also allow us to share NVC in countries like India and Nepal, where participants financial resources are considerably less.

General information

Participants will be invited to form Empathy Home Groups. These will meet daily during the modules. You will be encouraged to meet (face-to-face or by Skype) between the modules to foster community and for ongoing support.
