Year Training: the Five Module syllabus

On this page you’ll find the topics for each module. At the end you can also see the daily programme. In between modules, we support and maintain our connection with Community Calls. Elsewhere, find out about the venue, self-catering and fees or go straight to the online application form.

Topics by module, 2024-25: Knowing, Living and Sharing NVC

All modules start with a meal at 6.30pm on the Thursday and finish at 4.15pm on the Sunday.

Module One: Knowing NVC (10–13 October 2024)

  • Being in groups: do I belong?
  • Regulating intensity: staying in the learning zone.
  • What happens in conflict?
  • The NVC Tree of Compassionate Connection.
  • Embodied NVC.
  • The 13 Step Inner/Outer NVC Dance Floor.
  • Introducing the NVC Key Differentiations (KDs).
  • Introduction to the CNVC certification process.
  • Community Gift Culture conversation.

Module Two: Living NVC (28 November – 1 December 2024)

  • The intention to live in NVC consciousness.
  • Self-empathy NVC Dance Floor.
  • Empathy Archery.
  • NVC spirituality.
  • Exploring the NVC Key Differentiations.
  • Community Gift Culture conversation.

Module Three: Healing past pain (20 – 23 February 2025)

  • Transforming anger, guilt, shame and depression with the NVC Dance Floors.
  • Steps to Mourning and Healing.
  • How to enjoy ‘bad sex’.
  • Exploring the NVC Key Differentiations.
  • Community Gift Culture conversation.

Module Four: Transforming conflict (3 – 6 April 2025)

  • Understanding conflict and your conflict history.
  • Restorative Circles: introduction and practice.
  • Inner conflict: impact, intention and action plan.
  • Mediating an inner conflict: a difficult decision.
  • Exploring the NVC Key Differentiations.
  • Community Gift Culture conversation.

Module Five: Sharing NVC (12 – 15 June 2025)

  • Social change: Be the change exercise.
  • NVC facilitation skills.
  • NVC presentations with coaching / feedback (optional).
  • Reviewing the NVC Key Differentiations.
  • Community Gift Culture conversation.

 

Daily Programme

  • 7.30 – 8.30       Breakfast
  • 9.00                 Remembering our collective intention and planning the day.
  • 9.30 – 12.45    Morning session, including comfort breaks.
  • 13.00               Lunch and integration time.
  • 15.00 – 16.00  Empathy Home Groups.
  • 16.15 – 18.15  Afternoon session including comfort break.
  • 18.45              Evening meal.
  • 19.45              Harvesting the day’s learning.
  • 20.15              Open Space.

Staying connected

You will be invited to join an Empathy Home Group to meet daily during the modules. We will encourage these to meet (face-to-face or online) between the modules to foster community and for ongoing support. We will also offer a community call between modules to support learning, integration, and connection.
